Morningside student Katie Pottebaum to present recital
Katie Pottebaum will present a voice recital on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at 5 p.m. in Eppley Auditorium.
Katie Pottebaum, a music education major at Morningside University, will present a voice recital on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, at 5 p.m. in Eppley Auditorium on Morningside’s campus. The recital is free and open to the public.
Pottebaum is from Ankeny, Iowa. She is a mezzo-soprano who studies voice with Shannon Salyards Burton at Morningside. She will perform works by Antonio Vivaldi, George Frideric Handel, Robert Schumann, Claude Debussy, Gabriel Fauré, Samuel Barber, Stephen Sondheim, and a composition titled “Orion’s Beauty” written by Pottebaum and fellow Morningside student Noah Potterf.
Pottebaum has held several student leadership positions in the music department as a member of the National Association for Music Educators – Collegiate, treble choir Cantabile, the Morningside Choir, and student music composition organization Harmonium. She is also a student employee in the music department and is involved in the Connie Wimer Women’s Leadership program at Morningside.
The Morningside University School of Visual and Performing Arts provides immersive opportunities for Morningside students and the Siouxland community to experience the power of music and the fine arts.
