Students majoring in arts administration at Morningside College are required to present a project at an off-site location that connects the student with the Siouxland community. GiGi’s Playhouse provides delivery of free educational, therapeutic-based, and career development programs for individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the community. There are 45+ GiGi’s locations throughout the U.S. and Mexico.

Burow’s senior project included a free photoshoot for the GiGi’s Playhouse community in late September. Participants could dress however they wanted and use the photos for any purpose including senior portraits and Down Syndrome Awareness Month. Each participant received three to five digital photos free of charge. Burow is also donating a number of prints from the photoshoot as new furnishings for GiGi’s Playhouse.

The arts administration program at Morningside College prepares students for professional careers in managing arts-oriented companies through the combination of creative experiences in a selected arts content and courses in administration and management.
