February 20, 2025 – Sioux City, IA – The Board of Directors at Morningside University is proud to announce the extension of President Dr. Albert Mosley’s contract through June 30, 2030. Since taking office nearly three years ago, Dr. Mosley has made monumental strides in advancing the university’s strategic vision and expanding its academic footprint.

In addition to aviation, Dr. Mosley has spearheaded the development of several new and innovative academic programs including cybersecurity, supply chain management, public health, acute care nursing, biomedical sciences, nutrition, exercise science, animal science, uncrewed aerial systems (UAS/Drone), and an online MBA program. These initiatives align with his ambitious rapid strategy plan, One Morningside, designed to meet market demands and elevate Morningside as a leader in higher education.
With Dr. Mosley at the helm, Morningside has also commenced a multi-million-dollar IT transformation through the introduction of a cloud-based Student Information System (SIS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Additionally, his leadership has facilitated significant research grants from national organizations such as the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the National Science Foundation (NSF), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and several other national entities, leading to the establishment of the Office of Sponsored Research at Morningside, and placing the University at the forefront of research for small teaching colleges and universities.
Dr. Mosley’s visionary leadership has also been instrumental in Morningside University’s recent accreditation success, highlighting growth in enrollment, retention, and student achievement. Additionally, his tenure has marked record-setting fundraising achievements, securing multiple transformative gifts of $1 million or more for the University’s endowment and the new school of business building.
“As I reflect on this incredible journey, I am deeply honored by the trust and support of the Board, and of our faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends,” said Dr. Mosley. “Morningside University is more than an institution; it is a thriving community dedicated to excellence. I look forward to building upon our successes and shaping an even brighter future together.”
