Morningside University’s School of Visual and Performing Arts presents two operas free of charge in March
Sioux City, Iowa – The School of Visual and Performing Arts at Morningside University is thrilled to announce the opening of its production of Giacomo Puccini’s “Gianni Schicchi”. This beloved comedic opera will grace the stage of the Klinger-Neal Theater from March 14-17, offering a delightful exploration of familial antics in the wake of a wealthy relative’s passing. With performances scheduled for March 14, 15, and 16 at 7 p.m. and a matinee on March 17 at 1 p.m., this succinct yet enthralling opera (~50 minutes) promises unforgettable entertainment for everyone. Admission is free of charge.
Hot on the heels of “Gianni Schicchi”, Morningside continues to enchant audiences with a family-friendly rendition of “Little Red Riding Hood” by Seymour Barab. Scheduled for March 21-23 with evening performances at 7 p.m. and a concluding matinee at 1 p.m. on March 24, this engaging narrative will captivate attendees of all ages. Like “Gianni Schicchi,” “Little Red Riding Hood” will be performed at the Klinger-Neal Theater and is open to the public free of charge.
