Morningside Women Drop Tough Road Test
(Sioux City, Iowa)- The Morningside Women’s Volleyball team fell to the 8th ranked team in the nation Wednesday night.
The ladies traveled to Fremont, Neb. to take on Midland for their first GPAC game of the year. Morningside entered the game with a 5-4 overall record; while Midland entered the game with an 8-2 overall record.
Midland took the first set by a score of 25-17 to put them up 1-0. The second set showed to be the same result, Midland took the set by a score of 25-17 yet again. Down two sets to none, the ladies had their backs against the walls. They battled throughout the entire third set, ultimately falling by a score of 26-24 and losing 3-0.
Morningside is back in action again next Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. where they will take on Doane in Rosen Verdoorn Sports Center-Allee Gymnasium. Doane will enter the game with a 6-3 overall record (0-1) GPAC. Morningside is 5-5 (0-1) GPAC.
