Music fraternity to present recital
Morningside College’s chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a national music fraternity, will present a “Sinfonia American Composers Recital” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 20, in Eppley Auditorium.
Morningside College’s chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, a national music fraternity, will present a “Sinfonia American Composers Recital” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 20, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave.
The recital is free and open to the public. It will include performances by the Sinfonia Brass Band, the Men of Song Choir, a percussion trio and several duets and solos. Performances will feature works by American composers, including selections from Aaron Copland’s “Old American Songs,” selections from Jason Robert Brown’s musical “The Last Five Years” and choral works by Alice Parker and Robert Shaw.
The Men of Song Choir will be under the direction of student Travis Metzger of Garretson, S.D. Accompanists will be Chrissy Martinez and Jayne Koch.
