She received $5,000, the highest amount given to a Wagner singer this year at the competition. She will perform in the winners’ concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 30, in Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall.

She previously competed in the general division of the competition, which is for singers ages 21 to 35, and received third prize in 2012.

Hendrix-Case has performed extensively as an opera singer in locations ranging from San Francisco, Calif., to Vienna, Austria. She holds a doctorate in vocal performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory.
