Mustang netters wrap up fall campaign with 6-3 triumph

Morningside’s men’s tennis team wrapped up its abbreviated fall schedule with a 6-3 victory against Grand View on Friday in Sioux City.
The Mustangs, who finished the fall with a 1-2 record, swept the three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead into the singles competition.
Brandon Stoll, Jordan Betts, and Akshay Krishna all contributed singles and doubles victories.
Stoll swept Zach Martin 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 2 singles flight and combined with Danny Graves for an 8-4 triumph in the No. 1 doubles flight.
Betts shut out Diego Novoa 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 4 singles flight and Krishna dropped just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 triumph against Derek Fenton in the No. 5 singles flight. Betts and Krishna combined for an 8-5 victory against Ryan Gilbert and Novoa in the No. 2 doubles flight.
Morningside’s other triumph came from its No. 3 doubles tandem of Bernardo Cadario and Hunter Renn, who won by an 8-2 margin.
