Morningside College is ranked eighth in the nation in the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Post-Season Top 25 Poll released on March 25.
The Mustangs were this season’s Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) co-champion with a 17-3 league record and finished the campaign with a 28-5 record for their second highest victory total in school history. Morningside qualified for the NAIA Division II National Tournament for the fifth time in the last 10 years, where it bowed out in the second round with a 72-70 setback against the University of Saint Francis.
Morningside is one of four teams from the GPAC ranked in the NAIA II Post-Season Top 25. Aside from Morningside, Dakota Wesleyan University is ranked second, Midland University is 13th, and Briar Cliff University is 25th.
