Mustangs compete in two events on first day of NAIA Indoor Nationals
Morningside competed in the women’s 3200-meter relay and the men’s 5000-meters during Thursday’s action at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships.
Morningside College competed in the prelims of the women’s 3200-meter relay and the men’s 5000-meter run during Thursday’s opening day of action at the 2015 NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Geneva, Ohio.
The Mustangs quartet of Shelby Hall, a junior from Woodbine, Iowa; Tori Figge, a sophomore from Rock Rapids, Iowa; Michelle Mumm, a freshman from Neola, Iowa; and Tiffany Shepherd, a sophomore from Corning, Iowa, finished fourth in their heat with a time of 9:22.39. They had the 10th fastest overall time among the 29 teams that compete in the prelims.
The top eight times advanced to Friday’s final.
Mark Abrams, a junior from Glenwood, Iowa, competed in the prelims of the men’s 5000-meters. Abrams finished ninth in his heat and 19th overall with a time of 15:16.11.
