Mustangs place two on academic all-district team
McKenzie Anderson and Rachel Koch were named to the 2016 CoSIDA College Division Academic All-District 3 Softball Team.
McKenzie Anderson, a junior outfielder from Lincoln, Neb., and Rachel Koch, a junior shortstop-outfielder from Denison, Iowa, have been named to the 2016 College Division Academic All-District 3 Softball Team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
As a member of the all-district team their names will go on the national ballot for the selection of the 2016 College Division Academic All-America Softball Team.
Anderson has a 3.58 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with a major in business administration. She has a .327 batting average with one home run and 29 RBIs as the Mustangs’ starting centerfielder.
Koch has a 3.68 cumulative GPA with a major in biology. She has a .366 batting average with five home runs and 38 RBIs while splitting time as a starter at both shortstop and right field.
Athletes must be of at least sophomore academic status, be a starter or significant reserve, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher to be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.
