Mustangs place two on academic all-district volleyball teams
Morningside’s Kelsey Ackerman and Hannah Roberg were named to the Capital One Academic All-District 3 College Division Volleyball Teams.
Kelsey Ackerman has been named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District 3 College Division Volleyball First-Team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
As a first-team all-district selection, Ackerman’s name will go on the national ballot for the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America College Division Volleyball Team.
In addition to Ackerman, the Mustangs’ Hannah Roberg was named to the academic all-district second team.
Ackerman, a redshirt freshman from Rock Rapids, Iowa, has a 3.96 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with a major in nursing.
Roberg, a junior from Grand Island, Neb., has a 4.00 cumulative GPA with a major in biology.
Athletes must be of at least sophomore academic status, be a starter or significant reserve, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher to be eligible for Capital One All-Academic honors.
