Mustangs place two on All-GPAC Men’s Tennis Team
Samuel Castro and Akshay Krishna were named to the 2018 All-GPAC Men’s Tennis Team.
Samuel Castro and Akshay Krishna were named to the 2018 All-Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men’s Tennis Team as selected by the league’s head coaches.
Castro, a sophomore from Bogota, Columbia, was selected to the All-GPAC Team at No. 2 singles. He had a 5-14 record to rank third on the Mustangs in singles victories.
Krishna, a senior from Lima, Peru, was selected at No. 5 singles. Krishna was the top winner in the Mustangs’ singles lineup with an 11-12 record. Krishna was part of the Mustangs’ most successful doubles team, combining with Jordan Betts, a senior from Sioux City, for a 10-12 record.
Morningside posted a 5-15 record during the 2017-18 season and finished fourth in the GPAC standings with a 2-3 league mark.
