Mustangs Sweep Dakota Wesleyan, Remain Unbeaten At Home
Morningside volleyball remains unbeaten at home after sweeping Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday night, moving the Mustangs to 9-6 (4-2) and Dakota Wesleyan to 11-5 (1-4) on the year.
Morningside volleyball remains unbeaten at home after sweeping Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday night, moving the Mustangs to 9-6 (4-2) and Dakota Wesleyan to 11-5 (1-4) on the year.
The Mustangs were neck-and-neck with Dakota Wesleyan in the first set, pulling off a 25-22 win thanks to some big kills from Krista Zenk and Emma Gerber. In the second set, the Mustangs faced a climb after falling behind by seven, but pulled together to nab a 25-23 victory. The team used the energy from the second set thriller to win the third set 25-16.
The team posted 46 kills and 8 blocks on the night. Sophomore Krista Zenk had a stellar night with 14 kills, 33 total assists, and 11 digs. Junior Emma Gerber chipped in 12 kills, and Callie Alberico pulled in 16 digs.
Mustang volleyball will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 26, against Mount Marty in Yankton, S.D.
