Rachel Henks and Cody Selig were named the GPAC Softball and Baseball Pitchers of the Week for April 18-24.

Rachel Henks, a junior from Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Cody Selig, a sophomore from Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, have been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Softball and Baseball Pitchers of the Week for April 18-24.

Henks earned a win and a save when the Mustangs swept College of Saint Mary in last Saturday’s GPAC doubleheader in Sioux City. Henks struck out three of the five batters she faced to notch her fifth save of the season when the Mustangs won the opener 6-1. Henks pitched a one-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts to lead Morningside to a 4-0 victory in the nightcap. She lost her no-hit bid on an infield single with two outs in the top of the seventh inning.

Selig pitched 6.1 innings of no-hit baseball in last Friday’s 6-1 victory against Dordt College. He struck out eight batters to raise his season’s total to 62 strikeouts in 49.2 innings pitched.
