Mustangs top national poll for third straight week
Adding to its record run for National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ top 25 appearances, Morningside College found itself at the top of the list for a third straight week Monday, Oct. 15.
KANSAS CITY, MO. – Adding to its record run for National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ top 25 appearances, Morningside College found itself at the top of the list for a third straight week Monday, Oct. 15.
The Mustangs (7-0) earned 366 poll points and 15 of 16 first-place votes to top Marian College of Indiana who remained ranked second with 351 points and one first-place marker. Head coach Steve Ryan’s program has been within the NAIA top 25 in each of the last 145 polls and earned its 23rd number one listing, good for fourth all-time.
Morningside continues its 2018 campaign Saturday, Oct. 20, traveling to Orange City for a pivotal Great Plains Athletic Conference clash with third-ranked Northwestern College. Kickoff is 1 p.m. at De Valois Stadium and Korver Field on NWC’s campus.
