Morningside Volleyball fell 3-0 at Briar Cliff.
Briar Cliff swept Morningside 3-0 in women’s volleyball action on Sat., Sept. 29. The host Chargers won 25-22, 25-23, and 25-16. The Mustangs are now 10-7 on the season and 5-3 in the GPAC.
Morningside’s Callie Alberico led all players in assists with 26. Alberico is a junior from Blair, Neb.
Krista Zenk, a sophomore from Le Mars, Iowa, let the Mustangs in kills with 10. Junior Emma Gerber tallied nine. Morningside had 36 kills in the match.
On defense, Zenk also led Morningside with 14 of the team’s 46 digs. Gerber led all players in blocking in the match, picking up three solo blocks. The Mustangs out-blocked the Chargers 6-0 on the night.
Morningside heads home to take on the Red Raiders of Northwestern College on Tuesday, Oct. 2 in a 7:30 p.m. contest.
