High school choirs from Sioux City and Glenwood, Iowa, will perform new music during a Morningside College choral composition concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave.

The Sioux City North High School Choir, the Sioux City East High School Choir and the Glenwood High School Choir will perform the compositions, which were finalists in Morningside’s fifth annual choral composition contest held earlier this year.

The winning composers are Chase Shoemaker, a senior at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa; Philip Pfaltzgraff, staff accompanist at Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb.; and Joshua Fishbein, a visiting faculty member in musicianship studies at The College of New Jersey. All three will be at Morningside to work with the ensembles performing their compositions.

The concert will also feature the Morningside College Choir, Bel Canto Women’s Chorus and the Singing Men of Morningside.

Admission is $5 at the door.
