Nine members from Morningside’s cross country team were named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Nine members from Morningside College’s men’s and women’s cross country teams were named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

The Mustangs’ Daktronics-NAIA Cross Country Scholar-Athletes are:

Alec DeVries, a junior from Merrill, Iowa, who has a 3.61 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with a major in history.

Jasmine Glasgo, a senior from Essex, Iowa, who has a 3.72 cumulative GPA with a major in elementary education.

Jacob Green, a junior from Sioux Falls, S.D., who has a 3.83 cumulative GPA with major in biology and chemistry.

Kyle Hiser, a junior from Shenandoah, Iowa, who has a 3.58 cumulative GPA with a major in biology.

Jason Kenny, a junior from Schaller, Iowa, who has a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA with a major in applied agricultural and food studies.

Jaden Lux, a senior from Cherokee, Iowa, who has a 3.91 cumulative GPA with a major in mass communication.

Kate Mathes, a senior from Cherokee, Iowa, who has a 3.87 cumulative GPA with majors in biology and chemistry.

Hannah Miller, a junior from Fort Dodge, Iowa, who has a 3.58 cumulative GPA with a major in biology.

Tiffany Shepherd, a senior from Corning, Iowa, who has a 3.73 cumulative GPA with a major in elementary education.

Student-athletes must be of at least junior academic status and have a minimum GPA of 3.50 in order to be eligible for Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.
