Patent attorney Luke Holst will speak on current intellectual property issues affecting the agriculture industry at Morningside College from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in the UPS Auditorium in Lincoln Center, 3627 Peters Ave.

The lecture is free and open to the public, and sponsored by the Morningside Ag Club.

Holst is a registered patent attorney at McGrath North in Omaha, Neb., with experience in both patent prosecution and patent litigation. Holst has served as a patent examiner for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, worked as a law clerk for Judge Mark W. Bennett at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa, and aided Congressman Steve King at the U.S. Capitol in legislative counsel.

Holst has 20 years of experience as part owner-operator of a family farm in Northwest Iowa. He graduated from Creighton University School of Law in 2005.
