Defending champion Morningside College was picked to repeat their 2017-18 Great Plains Athletic Conference championship feat with the announcement of the 2018-19 preseason men’s basketball coaches poll Monday, Oct. 22.

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Defending champion Morningside College was picked to repeat their 2017-18 Great Plains Athletic Conference championship feat with the announcement of the 2018-19 preseason men’s basketball coaches poll Monday, Oct. 22.

The Mustangs received 100 poll points and 10 first-place votes. Crosstown rival Briar Cliff University was tabbed second, earning 90 points and one first-place selection. Morningside tips off the season Tuesday, Oct. 30. Benedictine College of Kansas visits the Rosen Verdoorn Sports Center and Allee Gymnasium for a 7 p.m. start.
