Morningside is the coaches’ pick in the 2015 GPAC Softball Pre-Season Poll.

Morningside was tabbed the favorite to win this year’s GPAC softball title in the GPAC Softball Coaches’ Pre-Season Poll.

The Mustangs received three of the 11 first place votes and received 90 votes overall. Concordia received the most first place votes with four and was second with 85 points. Midland (78) and Northwestern (74) each received two first place votes.

Morningside posted a 30-14 record last season, including a 15-5 mark in the GPAC to share the league title with Northwestern, en route to a sixth consecutive appearance in the NAIA Softball National Championship tournament.

The Mustangs will open the 2015 season with a doubleheader against Southwestern Christian University on March 2 in Bethany, Okla.
