Professor and student present at national meeting

Aaron Bunker, associate professor of biology at Morningside College, and student Jenna Winkler gave a poster presentation recently at the American Physiological Society’s annual meeting in San Diego.
They presented research conducted in 2017 as part of the Summer Undergraduate Research Program at Morningside College, where professors work one-on-one with students to conduct in-depth research projects.
Bunker and Winkler evaluated the effects of breathing exercises on diaphragm performance in athletes and performing artists.
Bunker joined the faculty at Morningside College in the fall of 2010. He has a doctorate in biomedical sciences from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Winkler is a biology and chemistry major at Morningside College from Papillion, Neb.
