Professor is elected to leadership position in journalism and mass communication association
Dave Madsen, assistant professor and chair of mass communication, was elected to a leadership position in the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.
Dave Madsen, assistant professor and chair of mass communication at Morningside College, was elected to a leadership position in the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC).
He will serve as co-chair of the Research Committee for the Small Programs Interest Group and as section editor for the Small Programs Interest Group newsletter.
As research co-chair, Madsen will collect various research projects and papers from mass communication and journalism professors across the country for possible presentation at the annual AEJMC conference. As section editor for the newsletter, Madsen will collect and edit information to include in the newsletter.
Madsen has been a professor at Morningside College since 2009. He has 34 years of experience in commercial television and radio. Madsen has a master’s degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
The AEJMC is a nonprofit organization of more than 3,700 educators, students and practitioners from around the globe, and the oldest and largest alliance of journalism and mass communication educators and administrators at the college level.
