Professor presents at emerging adulthood conference

Shannon Claxton, assistant professor of psychology at Morningside College, recently presented and chaired a symposium at the biennial meeting of the Society for the Study of Emerging Adulthood in Washington, D.C.
She gave a presentation titled “Casual Sexual Relationships and Experiences: The Role of Physical Attractiveness” and served as chair for a symposium on “Sexual Behaviors of Emerging Adults.”
The Society for the Study of Emerging Adulthood is a multidisciplinary, international organization with the goal to advance the understanding of emerging adulthood through scholarship, training, policy and practice. Membership is open to researchers, policy makers, educators and practitioners with special interests in development during this period of life.
Claxton has a doctorate in experimental psychology from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. She has taught at Morningside College since 2015.
