Tim Case, visiting faculty artist at Morningside College, recently received a Judy Award from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for best scenic design for a musical.

The show, titled “Once on This Island,” played in March and September of 2015 at The Black Repertory Theatre in St. Louis under the direction of Ron Himes.

The Judy Awards were founded 19 years ago by Judith Newmark, a critic for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The awards serve as a thank you for the hard work and dedication of theatre artists. They are sponsored by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Case also designed the set for the recent Morningside productions “Pirates of Penzance,” “The Glass Menagerie” and “The Emperor’s New Clothes.” Since the fall of 2015, he has taught introduction to theatre, stagecraft and applied theatre at Morningside College. He has a master’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
