Professors co-authored paper presented at conference on teaching college composition
Alden Stout, assistant professor of philosophy, and David Elder, assistant professor of writing and rhetoric, co-authored a paper that recently was presented at the Trends in Teaching College Composition Conference in Dallas, Texas.

Alden Stout, assistant professor of philosophy at Morningside College, and David Elder, assistant professor of writing and rhetoric at Morningside, co-authored a paper that recently was presented at the Trends in Teaching College Composition Conference in Dallas, Texas.
The paper, “An Inclusive Approach to Teaching Argument and Persuasion,” presented assessment research about the effectiveness of Morningside’s first-year seminar classes.
Stout joined the faculty at Morningside College in 2011. He has a doctorate from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.
Elder joined the faculty at Morningside in 2010. He has a doctorate from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. Elder is director of the Morningside College Writing Center.
