The aerospace education class “Space Cities” at Morningside College is accepting registrations for the program, which begins in June for students who have completed first through fourth grades.

The aerospace education class “Space Cities” at Morningside College is accepting registrations for the program, which begins in June for students who have completed first through fourth grades.

“Space Cities” is scheduled June 12 through 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Students will design and build space stations using recycled materials, learn about living and working in space and participate in experiments dealing with microgravity, rocketry, weightlessness and astronaut foods.

Aerospace education classes are organized and taught on the Morningside campus by Connie Richardson Smith, a Sioux City educator and consultant, and Mary Richardson Tester, an educator from Pawleys Island, S.C. The classes are a partnership with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Sioux City Public Museum.
