Biologist, author and cancer survivor Sandra Steingraber will speak on “The Hazards of Environmental Runoff from Chemicals Used in Agriculture, Home Lawn Care and Industry” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Morningside College in the Weikert Auditorium in Buhler Rohlfs Hall.

Biologist, author and cancer survivor Sandra Steingraber will speak on “The Hazards of Environmental Runoff from Chemicals Used in Agriculture, Home Lawn Care and Industry” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Morningside College in the Weikert Auditorium in Buhler Rohlfs Hall, 1701 Morningside Ave.

The lecture is free and open to the public.

Steingraber writes about climate change, ecology and the links between human health and the environment. She has been invited to lecture at universities including Harvard, Yale, Cornell and Columbia, and she has participated in briefings to Congress, the Environmental Protection Agency, and United Nations delegates in Geneva, Switzerland. She also has appeared on television programs such as the “Today” show and “Good Morning America.”

Steingraber has a Ph.D. in biological sciences from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She is currently a distinguished scholar in residence at Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y.
