Science curator for TED Talks to give virtual lecture at Morningside College

David Biello, the science curator for TED Talks, will come to Morningside College virtually to give an interactive lecture on “The Future of Agriculture” at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, in the UPS Auditorium in Lincoln Center, 3627 Peters Ave.
Biello is an award-winning journalist who reports on energy and the environment. Before becoming the science curator for TED, a media organization that posts talks online for free distribution under the slogan “ideas worth spreading,” he was environment and energy editor at Scientific American, where’s he been a contributor since 2005. Biello hosts the podcast “60-Second Earth” for Scientific American and the documentaries “Beyond the Light Switch” and “The Ethanol Effect” for PBS. He is also the author of the book “The Unnatural World: The Race to Remake Civilization in Earth’s Newest Age.”
The event is part of Morningside’s Hickman-Johnson-Furrow Learning Center Virtual Lecture Series. The college broadcasts the lectures on campus, and the audience is able to ask questions and interact with the speakers.
