Seven Mustang teams were recognized as a 2013-14 NAIA Scholar-Team.
Seven of Morningside College’s athletic programs were named NAIA Scholar-Teams for the 2013-14 academic year.
For a team to be considered for the NAIA Scholar-Team award, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average (GPA) as defined by the institution. The team grade-point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
Morningside’s women’s cross country and women’s indoor track & field teams led the Mustangs’ NAIA Scholar-Teams with team GPAs of 3.46. The Mustangs’ other NAIA Scholar-Teams and their GPAs are: women’s outdoor track & field, 3.45; men’s indoor track & field, 3.22; men’s outdoor track & field, 3.21; men’s cross country, 3.15; and women’s swimming, 3.03.
David Nash is the head coach of the Mustangs’ cross country and track & field teams. Bryan Farris is the head coach of the Mustangs’ swimming team.
