Tiffany Shepherd was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week after she led the Mustangs to a runner-up finish at the Herb Blakely Invitational.
Tiffany Shepherd, a senior from Corning, Iowa, has been named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for her performance in last Saturday’s Dakota State University Herb Blakely Invitational in Madison, S.D.
Shepherd placed second in the individual standings and was the top finisher by a competitor from a NAIA school after she ran the 5K course in a time of 19:16. Her exploits led Morningside to a second place finish in the team standings behind NCAA Division II Northern State University.
The Mustangs, ranked 23rd nationally in the NAIA, will compete in the University of Minnesota’s Roy Griark Invitational on Sept. 24 in Falcon Heights, Minn.
