Morningside placed six student-athletes on the 2017 College Division Academic All-District 3 Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams.

Six Morningside College student-athletes were named to the 2017 College Division Academic All-District 3 Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

As all-district selections, their names will go on the national ballot for selection of the 2017 College Division Academic All-America Men’s and Women’s At-Large Teams.

Morningside’s academic all-district honorees are:

Jimmy Aschenbrenner, a sophomore men’s volleyball player from Westminster, Colo., who has a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with majors in biology and chemistry.

Derik Bailey, a junior wrestler from Smithland, Iowa, who has a 3.95 cumulative GPA with a major in biology.

Timothy Cohoon, a sophomore men’s swimmer from Buffalo, Wyo., who has a 3.94 cumulative GPA with a major in business administration.

Natasha Hongsermeier, a senior women’s tennis player from Phillips, Neb., who has a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA with majors in biology, chemistry and music.

Alexandra Mankle, a sophomore women’s golfer from Milford, Iowa, who has a 3.97 cumulative GPA with a major in nursing.

Cassie Stanek, a senior women’s tennis player from Sioux City who has a 3.93 cumulative GPA with a major in nursing.

Athletes must be of at least sophomore academic status, be a starter or significant reserve, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher to be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.
