Six Mustangs receive academic honor
Six Morningside basketball players were named 2018 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Six players from Morningside’s men’s and women’s basketball teams were named 2018 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
The Mustangs’ Daktronics-NAIA Men’s Basketball Scholar-Athletes are:
Alex Borchers, a 5-10 sophomore guard from South Sioux City, Neb., who has a 3.46 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with a major in mathematics.
Wyatt Mounts, a 6-1 junior guard from Sioux City who has a 3.61 cumulative GPA with majors in mathematics teaching and philosophy.
The Mustangs’ Daktronics-NAIA Women’s Basketball Scholar-Athletes are:
Jenna Bork, a 5-5 senior guard from Sioux City who has a 3.93 cumulative GPA with a major in elementary education.
Alexandra Gill, a 6-1 junior forward from Omaha, Neb., who has a 3.66 cumulative GPA with majors in integrated community service and business administration.
Jenna Heine, a 5-6 junior guard from Wynot, Neb., who has a 3.96 cumulative GPA with a major in elementary education.
Lauren Lehmkuhl, a 6-0 senior forward from Wakefield, Neb., who has a 3.80 cumulative GPA with majors in advertising and graphic design.
Student-athletes must be of at least junior academic status and have a minimum GPA of 3.50 in order to be eligible for Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.
