This recital is performed each semester by the recipient of the Marvin and Merry Klass Endowed Music Scholarship. This is the music department’s most prestigious scholarship for performers.
The recital will include Johann Sebastian Bach’s “French Suite No. 6 in E major, BWV 817,” performed on a French harpsichord, and Franz Schubert’s “Sonata No. 18 in G major, D 894,” performed on piano.
A native of Tokyo, Ishii came to Morningside in 2012 to study mathematics, physics and music. After graduating in May, he plans to attend graduate school to earn a master’s degree in mathematics. He has been accepted to Johns Hopkins University and Tufts University.
