Students inducted into education honor society
Twenty-one Morningside College students recently were inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in the field of education, and officers were elected for the 2018-2019 academic year.
Twenty-one Morningside College students recently were inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, an international honor society in the field of education, and officers were elected for the 2018-2019 academic year.
Students in the Sharon Walker School of Education at Morningside had to have at least sophomore standing, be admitted to a teacher preparation program, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and express the intention of continuing in the education field.
Officers elected for the 2018-2019 academic year were Molly McInnis of Beresford, S.D., president; Sara Bauermeister of Spencer, Iowa, vice president; Alison Wright of Rock Rapids, Iowa, secretary; Drew Schiltz of Hinton, Iowa, treasurer; and Morgan Skinner of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, membership chair.

From Sioux City – Hana Krommenhoek, Sara Larson, Katarina Loofe, Drew Paulsen and Haylee Twillman.
From Iowa – Ashleigh Danke and Drew Schiltz of Hinton, Clare Kortlever of Orange City, Alison Wright of Rock Rapids, Megan Ellerbeck of Schleswig, Morgan Skinner of Sergeant Bluff, and Sara Bauermeister of Spencer.
From other states – Megan Griep of Delano, Minn.; Laura Peters of Ainsworth, Neb.; Mara Amsberry of Bennington, Neb.; Kendy Kube of Crofton, Neb.; Nicole Dillin of Hastings, Neb.; Hanna Momsen of Omaha, Neb.; Morgan Polenske of Randolph, Neb.; Ethan Mikkelson of Jefferson, S.D.; and Samantha Stark of Sioux Falls, S.D.
Chapter advisers are Carolyn Glackin, instructor of education, and Dr. Tangela Sylvester, assistant professor of education.
