Six students recently were inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society. Membership is granted based on high academic achievement in history and overall.

Six Morningside College students recently were inducted into the Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society.

The students were Trevor Friedel of Paullina, Iowa; Stephen Jessen of Exira, Iowa; Calvin Krause of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Bianca Llamas of Sioux City; Nathan Mann of De Smet, S.D.; and Trent Solsma of Dakota Dunes, S.D. 

Phi Alpha Theta promotes the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians. The society has over 350,000 members – including undergraduate and graduate students and history professors – and over 860 local chapters.

Membership is granted based on high academic achievement in history and overall. Dr. Greg P. Guelcher, professor of history, is the faculty adviser for the Morningside chapter.
