Students present papers at English honor society convention

Seven Morningside College students presented written work and one student chaired a session recently at the Sigma Tau Delta 2015 International Convention in Albuquerque, N.M.
The students who presented creative or scholarly work at the convention were Cheyanne Dean of Sioux City; Hannah Hecht of Lansing, Kan.; Bethany Kluender of Huxley, Iowa; Tasha Lechtenberg of O’Neill, Neb.; Diane Nguyen of Sioux City; Ashley Petersen of Hebron, Neb.; and Marcie Ponder of Sioux City. Student Elizabeth Sterling of Sioux City chaired a session.
Amber Harris Leichner, visiting professor of English at Morningside, traveled with the students to the convention. She is faculty adviser for the group.
Sigma Tau Delta is an international English honor society with more than 870 active chapters located in the United States and abroad. Student papers are chosen for the convention through a blind review based on writing quality.
