Free and open to the public on Morningside’s campus featuring Sioux City’s own Above the Covers, area food trucks, and kids activities

Sioux City, Iowa – Morningside University will host its first-ever “Summer Vibes at Morningside” event on Thursday, June 20, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public and will take place on Morningside’s campus. Guests are encouraged to park in the Grace Church lot just off Garretson Avenue or in the lots around Eppley Auditorium.

Headlining the event is Sioux City’s own Above the Covers, performing on the Buhler Outdoor Performing Arts Stage starting at 7 p.m. This energetic party band, a local favorite, plays popular songs from the 1980s to today and includes two Morningside alumni among its members.

In addition to the musical entertainment, local food trucks Kai Thai, Corndog Company, and Big Papa’s Grub on the Run will offer food for purchase on the campus mall near the Buhler Outdoor Performing Arts Stage. A staffed police cruiser and fire truck will also be on display, and a bounce house and foam party from Foam Fun Rentals will be available for kids and attendees to enjoy.

All community members and alumni are encouraged to come to campus and enjoy this evening of fun and free summer activities.
