Ten Morningside football players were named 2015 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

Ten players from Morningside College’s football team have been named 2015 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

The Mustangs’ Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes are:

Austin Anfinson, a junior offensive lineman from Hinton, Iowa, who has a 3.83 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with majors in biology and chemistry.

Chad Bertagni, a junior offensive lineman from Omaha, Neb., who has a 3.98 cumulative GPA with majors in biology and chemistry.

Nate Crnkovich, a junior defensive lineman from Papillion, Neb., who has a 3.53 cumulative GPA with a major in nursing.

Blake Frank, a junior offensive lineman from Mapleton, Minn., who has a 3.65 cumulative GPA with a major in business administration.

Tony Heimer, a senior defensive lineman from Saint Ansgar, Iowa, who has a 3.53 cumulative GPA with majors in computer science and management information systems.

Taylor James, a junior defensive back from Westfield, Iowa, who has a 3.51 cumulative GPA with a major in business administration.

Nathan Johnson, a senior offensive lineman from Alcester, S.D., who has a 3.72 cumulative GPA with a major in nursing.

Eric Salmonson, a junior J-back from Omaha, Neb., who has a 3.87 cumulative GPA with a major in business administration.

Chet Willer, a junior J-back from Akron, Iowa, who has a 3.91 cumulative GPA with a major in business administration.

Chad Willer, a junior offensive lineman from Lawton, Iowa, who has a 3.60 cumulative GPA with a major in biology.

Student-athletes must be of at least junior academic status and have a minimum GPA of 3.50 in order to be eligible for Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.

The Morningside football team has produced 49 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes since 2002.
