Three Mustangs make academic all-district football team
Morningside’s Chad Bertagni, Jon Hauswald, and Ryan Kasdorf were named to the Capital One Academic All-District 3 College Division Football Team.
Morningside College placed three players on the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District 3 College Division Football Team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The Mustangs’ academic all-district selections are Chad Bertagni, a sophomore offensive lineman from Omaha, Neb; Jon Hauswald, a junior tight end from Sioux Center, Iowa; and Ryan Kasdorf, a senior quarterback from Newhall, Calif.
Their names will go on the national ballot for the selection of the 2014 Capital One Academic All-America College Division Football Team.
Bertagni has a 3.95 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with majors in biology and chemistry.
Hauswald has a 3.95 cumulative GPA with a major in mathematics teaching.
Kasdorf has a 3.49 cumulative GPA with a major in general psychology.
Athletes must be of at least sophomore academic status, be a starter or significant reserve, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher to be eligible for Capital One All-Academic honors.
