Morningside placed three student-athletes on the 2015-16 College Division Academic All-District 3 Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Team.

Alec DeVries, James Farnan, and Jacob Green were named to the 2016 College Division Academic All-District 3 Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Team as selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

As an all-district selection, their names will go on the national ballot for selection of the 2016 College Division Academic All-America Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Team.

DeVries, a junior distance runner from Merrill, Iowa, has a 3.58 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with a major in history.

Farnan, a sophomore from Bellevue, Neb., has a perfect 4.00 GPA with majors in political science and American history.

Green, a sophomore middle distance runner from Sioux Falls, S.D., has a 3.84 cumulative GPA with majors in biology and chemistry.

Athletes must be of at least sophomore academic status, be a starter or significant reserve, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher to be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors.
