Nine Morningside student-athletes were named Daktronics-NAIA Track & Field Scholar-Athletes.

Nine members of Morningside’s men’s and women’s track & field teams were named 2016 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

The Mustangs’ Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes are:

Katie Atkins, a junior from Pierce, Neb., who has a 3.97 cumulative grade point average (GPA) with a major in developmental psychology.

Alec DeVries, a junior from Merrill, Iowa, who has a 3.58 cumulative GPA with a major in history.

Jasmine Glasgo, a junior from Essex, Iowa, who has a 3.71 cumulative GPA with a major in elementary education.

Kyle Hiser, a junior from Shenandoah, Iowa, who has a 3.52 cumulative GPA with majors in biology and chemistry.

Elizabeth Kube, a senior from Crofton, Iowa, who has a 3.90 cumulative GPA with a major in business administration.

Jaden Lux, a junior from Cherokee, Iowa, who has a 3.89 cumulative GPA with a major in mass communication.

Kate Mathes, a junior from Cherokee, Iowa, who has a 3.84 cumulative GPA with majors in biology and chemistry.

Tiffany Shepherd, a junior from Corning, Iowa, who has a 3.68 cumulative GPA with a major in elementary education.

Taylor Woods, a senior from Cherokee, Iowa, who has a 3.75 cumulative GPA with majors in elementary education and special education.

Student-athletes must be of at least junior academic status and have a minimum GPA of 3.50 in order to be eligible for Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors.
