Two-time GRAMMY® Award nominated harpsichordist to open Morningside piano recital series
SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Jory Vinikour will open the Morningside College 2019-2020 piano recital series at on Friday, Sept. 6, at 7:30 p.m., in the Levitt Gallery at Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave.
Vinikour’s Morningside recital will include works by Fischer, Bach, Kalabis and Rameau. The performance is free and open to the public.

Vinikour is a virtuoso harpsichordist, conductor, accompanist, and coach who collaborates with some of the finest instrumental and vocal talent in the world. His highly diversified career and a wide-ranging repertoire have led him to perform as a soloist with the Rotterdam Philharmonic, Philharmonic of Radio France, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Moscow Chamber Orchestra, and in series and festivals throughout the world.
Vinikour’s recorded work has also been lauded throughout his career. His debut recording for Sono Luminus, the Complete Harpsichord Works of Jean-Philippe Rameau, was nominated for a 2012 GRAMMY® award in the category of Best Classical Solo Instrumental Recording. He received a second GRAMMY® nomination for his Sono Luminous disc Toccatas.
Born in Chicago, Vinikour is now based in Paris. He was initially brought to the City of Light by a Fulbright Scholarship that facilitated his studies with Huguette Dreyfus and Kenneth Gilbert.
