The United States Navy Concert Band will perform at Morningside College at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 29, in Eppley Auditorium, 3625 Garretson Ave.

The performance is free and open to the public, but tickets are required to attend. Tickets may be ordered online at morningside.edu/navyband.

The Navy Concert Band, the premier wind ensemble of the U.S. Navy, presents a wide array of marches, patriotic selections, orchestral transcriptions and modern wind ensemble repertoire. As the original ensemble of the Navy Band, the Navy Concert Band has been performing public concerts and participating in high-profile events for nearly 90 years.

One of the band’s primary responsibilities involves touring the country, embarking each year on concert tours throughout specified regions of the country. The concerts are family-friendly events, meant to be entertaining for all ages.

Area high school students who will perform with the Navy Concert Band include Madison Borden, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn; Bridget Carpenter, Sioux City East; Kurt Countryman, Woodbury Central; Ryan Dougherty, Bishop Heelan; Jonathan Denne, Sioux City North; Martin Medina, South O’Brien; Jared Messersmith, Dakota Valley; Juan Oropeza, Sioux City West; Alexandria Paulson, Fort Dodge; and Andrea Verburg, Sioux Center.
