Young is runner-up medalist at GPAC Qualifier #4
Matt Young carded a one-over par 73 to finish in a tie for second place at GPAC Men’s Golf Qualifier #4.
Matt Young was the runner-up medalist with a one-over par 73 to lead Morningside to a third place finish at GPAC Men’s Golf Qualifier #4 held Monday in Yankton, S.D.
The Mustangs carded a team score of 304 to finish just one stroke out of second place behind Nebraska Wesleyan and only three strokes out of first place behind Midland.
Young and Rory Doll shared runner-up medalist honors with 73s to finish one stroke behind individual winner Renen Sahr of Midland.
Morningside’s Keegan Bak fired a two-over par 74 for sole possession of fourth place in the individual standings. The Mustangs also counted a 78 by Cole Schwarz and a 79 by Matt Pitts.
Morningside finished in fourth place in the final combined team scoring from this year’s four GPAC Qualifier tourneys. The Mustangs had a team score of 1,247 strokes to finish just two strokes out of third place behind Doane.
Young finished in a tie for fourth place in the combined scoring from the four GPAC tourneys with a 304. He was one stroke out of third place behind Northwestern’s Ryan Kiewiet and two strokes out of second place behind Doane’s Jonas Christenson.
Bak and Pitts finished just out of the top 10 in a tie for 12th place at 314.
